Master Post

Sorry to be late.  We've been busy getting moved.

After we met with Choctaw County DHS on Wednesday, December 15 we prepared to move into the new house.  Unfortunately the sellers had "issues" that we were still dealing with (Good grief, the post I'll write on them when I get the time!), one of those issues being a pack of huge, vicious attack dogs even they couldn't handle anymore that they were trying to leave behind for us to deal with.  Long story short, we were almost another week getting moved in.  During that time something or someone killed our chickens and ducks where they were being temporarily held.  So out of around 30 animals we had when this mess started, we were down to one dog.

Also during that week we got revised forms from Chickasaw County DHS (not Choctaw County DHS).  I'd quote from our copies of them but they got misplaced during the move so I'll have to paraphrase off the top of my head.  The only parts that were changed were the descriptions of us.  Post-psychological evaluation, everything negative had been stripped from my copy, but they had added in that I "refused to acknowledge my problems."  What these problems were they no longer said, and if they had it would have contradicted the shrink who has previously shown no compunction for tearing them apart in court.   My husband's copy had two statements next to each other that contradicted each other, one praising him for being good at something and the next saying he was bad at it.  That faux pas pissed him off quite a bit.  It also lists one party as being Anna Warren, not Anna Brock, and doesn't say if she's a supervisor or not.  But nowhere on their was Natasha Ivory's signature.  Our lawyer got on to her, and says she's signed it since then and the case is officially closed.

Choctaw County DHS promised us copies of the pictures they that were in our file, then changed their mind and said they wanted nothing whatsoever to do with our case.

That is supposedly the end of the legal harassment.  There are still some loose ends hanging, but I'll talk more about them later.

As I said in my last post, we went back to the old house to retrieve some things.  There were plenty of signs that people had been on the property, including human feces by the back door, but no one bothered us while we were there

We're past the initial move, but not fully moved in.  The house still needs the kitchen, the den, one bathroom, and a lot of external work finished.  It is minimally furnished while we build the kitchen cabinets (on site from scratch, not prefabs, the room isn't square enough) and scrounge up a panel truck to move some more of our stuff.

I guess it should feel like victory.  Instead it feels like a tornado has uprooted us and set us down elsewhere, doing major damage in the process.  We've been running on adrenaline for months while our emotions were on hold.  Now the feelings are starting to catch up with us, and it's not fun.  We want to just scream and cry, but we don't want to upset the children.  At least we've got things to build and cook and clean to take it out on.

And we still don't know what was really behind this whole mess, so we don't know if it's really over or if it's just this round that's over.

Anyway, it's time to get back to my Regularly Scheduled Life (TM).  I'm putting a tag on these posts ("harassment") if anyone wants to just subscribe to those, posting about other things, and start using lj-cuts again.  Thanks to everyone who provided advice and moral support through all this.  The ideas y'all had about the video camera and the lawyer did the trick.  I don't want to think about what we would have done without you.

I'm so sorry about your animals. I've lost chickens and rabbits to foxes in the past, and whilst it is a fact of life, it still sucks. It must be especially bad now, when you need all the continuity you can get. And you never did manage to find your daughter's dog? That could still have a happy ending of course. Is it microchipped?

I'd like to think that there was somebody you could throw the book at for all of this, but I guess even if you did know who to aim for, it wouldn't work. Here's to hoping that the new house will be everything you want it to be. I also hope that you can just put your feet up soon, and start to relax.

I just read this from beginning to end and it is really scary... Just last week my daughter's school nurse threatened to start an investigation, because my daughter wet her pants three times that week, and insisted she see her Dr. to be tested for a UTI immediatly... I couldn't get her in to her normal Dr. before we were supposed to leave on vacation, (the trip was non-refundable as we had less than 24 hours to go before we left and it was being paid for by my sister)so I wound up taking her to the emergency room. so we waited 4 hours, exposed my daughter and myself to lord knows what kinds of diseases, and wasted a great deal of tax money, just to stroke the ego of a nurse who has already shown her inablity to perform such menial tasks as telling the differance between lipstick and a scab under close inspection. Gahhh! sorry for the rant...

Anyway, I'm glad things seem to be going better for you now, and I hope they continue to do so... One organization I never saw mentioned but might be the most help, is actually Homeland Security, as in some cases they tend to play the same games, but in this case they would be doing it against the people who were trying to railroad you... the smells you mentioned comming from that trailer could be construed as those possibly comming from the manufacture of explosives... and when you tell Homeland security that you think your neighbor is building bombs, they are much more likely to breach the door and at least find out what's really going on there (considering how hard they tried to hurt you and your family, I doubt it was/is nothing)... It gives you a chance to officilly discredit your accusers and prove who was really the victim in all this... because while this seems over, it worrys me that these people are free to do this again, to you or someone else... I understand if you want to put this behind you, but consider taking this further in person or anonymously, especially now that you have this letter in hand...
These are some very bad people, and I'm afraid this is a case where turning the other cheek, may lead to others being hurt. so please consider dropping an anonymous tip to Homeland Security about possible bomb making at that trailer, go to a payphone or buy a cheap pay as you go phone from Radioshack or Walgreens and pay cash if your feeling paranoid(again understandable)and when your done making your call turn it off and either throw it away, just make sure they know this guy is a cop... If you see in the news that he gets nailed for what ever is going on there, then you can decide whether to come forward to the agency in charge about what happened to you at his hands and who else was involved... the one thing that seems most important, is to avoid state and local authorities, and try to involve the feds, who are less likely to be influenced by local politics...

wow that's a very long comment, a little more than just two cents, I guess, but from the heart...

I'm so glad to hear that things are starting to get better, but I'd be surprised if this was the end of it. I hope it is though, I really do.

Our stuff's finally settling down after over 5 or so years of trouble, if you're interested to know. My youngest brother comes home soon too. :D

Anyway, best if luck as always and I'm sorry about your animals.

Everything settling in finally?

I've followed this since October and kept candles/good vibes going in your direction from time to time. From growing up where I did ("The Rust Belt" is near enough to identify it) and being related to who I am, getting out was the safest thing you could do. I'd have been sorely tempted to toss a lit match in their direction one evening and let that be the end of them. Those places go up like kindling. You're a better and stronger person than I.

Thanking the gods you and your children are safe, and hoping that's still the case.
