I described Torchwood to a retired civil servant yesterday, telling her about the Head Office with over 800 people and the Rural Outpost with 5.  She laughed in recognition, "27,000 people for the Main Office, and everywhere else 1 person for 27,000 people.  That sounds familiar."

Eandh left this wonderful quote on the OG forum, ""Having worked in and around some of these high-stress professions -- police, prosecutors office etc, I'd said TW if anything downplays office romances and extra-curricular sex. No one's been caught having sex on a desk yet at TW, no one's supporting children by 2 different women while still married to a third, no one's swapped partners."

(ETA:  Or sold homemade porn videos over the internet, as the FBI caught the local cops doing.)

So, do I find Torchwood unrealistic?
Only because it seems tamer and not as dark as Real Life.
