See, I don't really think she's convincing. I think the writers want her to be, so they portray it like other characters are convinced. That's not the same thing. We have to believe too.
To me, this is part of the disconnect between what the writers want her to be, and what she really is. They want her to be a charismatic leader, but she isn't. The fact that her ideas have no substance is just another nail in the coffin...or across the chalkboard.
