Loverly review, as always! Spot on, IMO. I loved this ep too, and not just for the wonderful Jack/Ianto hotness we were treated to. Mmmm, hotness...
But let's get the chronology straight. An hour ago Jack and Ianto were playing naked hide and seek. An hour after that they were half-dressed with their shirts nearby and disrobing again. Why did they put their clothes on? Lunch break? And an hour after that Ianto is dressed and making coffee while Jack yells for him. Why?
I figure Jack won at naked hide and seek (by cheating, of course. Which I figure involves Jack standing in the middle of the room and saying all sorts of hot and naughty things to Ianto in a very husky voice, and then listening for the poorly-suppressed moans and whimpers. No wonder Ianto was smiling when he told Gwen that Jack cheats.). And then Ianto suggested playing who-can-undo-whose-trousers-fastest for a change of pace (and ya gotta have trousers on to play that one). Ianto clearly was winning that round although Jack had made significant, um, headway (Ianto's trousers were at least partially undone when he left the room to talk to Gwen). I don't know why Ianto bothered to dress again later. Half-naked coffee making would certainly have been reasonable given all that had gone on before, and Goddess knows I wouldn't have complained. Perhaps Mark Everest didn't want to risk losing any more Jack/Ianto 'shippers to the hotness and have them miss the rest of the episode due to fainting and hyperventilation.
While we're on the subject... dear Gods, Jack is so freaking toppy in this episode! I mean, really, who else could stand there with his shirt open and his trousers undone (Jack wears tighty whities, it seems, although I can't decisively rule out boxers based on the visual evidence), having just been interrupted in the midst of sex moments earlier, and still manage to wield such authority? Damn...
no subject
